Thank you for showing interest in my work. I am Claus Schmidt, currently located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Most likely you have met me as a photographer, or seen my photo work somewhere. On these pages you will mostly find other types of creative expression.
Basically, I've been doing all kinds of creative stuff since I was a child. Most of what I do is self taught.
Born 1967 in Denmark. Three years of Art History studies at the University of Copenhagen (late 1980's). A short job at a Commercial Photographer sometime in the 80's as well. Before that, Arts classes in primary and secondary shool, internship at a ceramicist, plus various other things throughout the years.
I hold a M.Sc. degree in a field completely unrelated to my creative works and I have around 20 years of work experience that is also unrelated.
I do urban photo, and sometimes photo-manipulation. All my work is digital. See gallery.clsc.dk for examples.
Since 2006 I have been shooting photos of Street Art and Graffiti on walls in Copenhagen. For examples, see My flickr. I hope to become able to make all of them public somehow.
Since sometime back in 2007 (i.i.r.c.) I have had the honour of being the official event photographer for the Copenhagen Body Extremes Suspension Team (B.E.S.T.).
My work on other sites
Here are some links to my photo work on other sites. Most of them have a RSS feed:
- For street art and graf photos, see My flickr.
- For creative/experimental photos, see My deviantART page. (There's also a mini portfolio site with some highlights)
- For some of my early photo works, see gallery.clsc.dk.
Until around 2010-ish I only wanted to publish photo work. So, as my photo is already being published elsewhere I am gradually sharing more of my non-photo work here.
You may expect to see, eg. painting, graphics, drawing, crafts, perhaps even some of my customized clothing and/or other things. Time will show.
You will find both finished work and work-in-progress on these pages. Sometimes even early pre-work sketches. I like to give readers a glimpse into the process, in stead of only presenting finished works.
